When you think of wineries, kid-friendly doesn’t often pop into your mind.  But I’m here to tell you that there are many kid-friendly wineries in Temecula! Family friendly wineries in Temecula exist and have some great amenities, even for the youngest visitors. This was Milana’s second trip to Temecula and we visited different wineries than on our last trip. Some were better than others, with playgrounds and farm animals for the kids to see.  Our favorite time of year to visit is September, when it’s not as crowded as the summer months and you can see grapes growing, which makes the landscape that much more beautiful. Here is a list, in no particular order, of some family-friendly wineries in Temecula.

Longshadow Ranch Winery

This was one of the first wineries we visited and it’s one of the most kid friendly wineries in Temecula.  The grounds here are beautiful and the tasting room is large and can accommodate strollers from what we saw. Keep in mind, that if you are tasting, kids cannot be right by the bar area.  We opted to sit at a table and do our tasting that way so that Milana can be near us.

Longshadow also has a small play structure and an area with picnic tables where you can bring your own lunch. There are also farm animals to see. The goats were super friendly, but I can’t say the same about the llama!

Falkner Winery

Less than a half mile down the road is Falkner Winery. We came here next because they have a restaurant and we wanted to have lunch.  The restaurant is separate from the winery and the food here is delicious! They don’t have a kids menu, but there are lots of great options for kids on the regular menu. Milana is obsessed with cheese, so she ordered a cheese plate.

The grounds here are beautiful, and this winery is known for weddings and we saw lots of couples getting tours while we had lunch.

Peltzer Winery

Another winery in Temecula that is super family friendly that’s within a half mile of the above two is Peltzer.  This one is very kid friendly, in the fall they have a pumpkin patch for families to enjoy.

The tasting room is massive here and both dog and kid friendly.  They also have a bunch of friendly winery dogs roaming around, which Milana loved! We saw lots of families here.

Wilson Creek Winery

This was our favorite winery by far!  You’re not going to get a more family friendly winery than this.  The grounds are massive and they have a playground on site.  On weekends, there’s live music and you can buy a bottle of wine and enjoy the scenery while your kids play on the playground.  They do not, however, allow strollers in the tasting room so that’s something to keep in mind!

They had my favorite, Moscato, which isn’t easy to find, so we got a bottle to share.

As you can see, the grounds are sprawling and the playground is a popular spot for families.

Wiens Cellars

We stopped here, hoping to have a glass of wine on their patio, but they do not sell glasses and instead want you to do a tasting which we didn’t want to do.  Their tasting room is also really small and crowded and the staff here wasn’t very friendly.  I wanted to include this on my list so that you know which one to avoid! We didn’t stay here very long and went right on to the next one.

Mount Palomar Winery

Mount Palomar is another one of our favorite wineries for families.  We didn’t visit on this trip, but we came here when Milana was a toddler and there were lots of families all around. Their restaurant is really good and the grounds are super cute for kids to explore.

Ponte Winery

This is another we visited when Milana was a toddler and they were welcoming to families.  The tasting room had a little area with toys so that the kids could play while you did your tasting.

As you can see, there are lots of family and kid friendly winery options in Temecula.  I will be updating this post as we continue to take day trips to the area!

What beautiful pictures you all took while visiting the winery! Your little one appears that she had a great time, thank you for sharing your adventure.

The wineries are so kids friendly! That is not usually the case in some European ones. When we have a wind tasting our kids could never be with us, neither food nor drinks. It’s good to know these ones with kids offers.

That cheese platter looks delicious! I always wanted to go to a winery with our toddler but I always see a note saying no kids allowed. This is really helpful!

This post is filled with amazing shots Maggie, love it! And it’s great to know that there are such fantastic kids-friendly wineries in the area. I love a good Moscato, so Wilson Creek would probably be my first choice 😀

I would have never thought of wineries being family-friendly, but these ones near Temecula really seem to be! The Peltzer one looks like it would be a lot of fun for families with the pumpkin patch in the fall. The Ponte winery also seems nice that there are toys for kids to play with while their parents are having a wine tasting.

Okay we’ve only been to wineries in Napa without our kids but here at home I know there are a few wineries that advertise they are family friendly. We’ve never given them a try but you have me convinced to load up the kids and head out!

I usually travel solo and I don’t normally read about family-frienely destinations but I really enjoyed this text. I guess its never too late to start preparing and have a list of places to visit when traveling with children. I’m also a big fan of wine and vineyards and will definitely bookmark this article for my upcoming trip to Temecula.

Oh my goodness I’m so jealous right now. I’ve always wanted to go to a wine tasting but haven’t because of kids. I need to look into a winery that is kid friendly here!

Kid friendly and wineries don’t often go together. I love that there are some! And the food looks amazing. I am drooling!

  • LaCresha

Confession…I’ve never been to a winery! Now that I know some are kid friendly we’ll definitely have to check one out!

Had never actually thought about wineries in the context of kids. But really these wineries are nice places to take the kids to and there is so much they can do. I can see Milana really enjoying herself. Playgrounds and the beautiful outdoors indeed make for a great outing for the kids, and they do not feel left out. The post is really useful for those planning wine tours and thinking in terms of their kids.

I really love to visit wineries and I have not known many where kids can also have a good time. The ones that you have listed here are really good ones where I see your kid having the time of her life. Among all, I liked the Falkner Winery and it is good to know that they organize weddings also there.

I have never heard of Temecula and now I want to go! This experience is so wonderful and I hope to take my family here someday.

I am a huge oenophile and love visiting wineries. This is something that I would totally love it. Your kid is super cute and her expressions are priceless. Especially the look she has after looking at the cheese platter. It’s great to know that Temecula is a kid-friendly winery.

What a great way to share wine country as a family in Temecula. You’re right. Many folks wouldn’t even realize there are family-friendly options–and these wineries are smart to encourage visitors of all ages. You’ve certainly highlighted some good ones (with some incredible photography, no less)! In fact, it all just makes me want a glass of wine…

  • Paulina

I have never heard of Temecula, but I will definitely put it on the list. I love family wineries, it is amazing to see how they keep on traditions. It looks like your cutie had fun too!
