Living 20 minutes from Disneyland means we don’t have to go very far for some awesome, kid-friendly hotels that are perfect for a staycation.  Milana has had her eye on the Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance for months.  She’d point to the water park every time we would drive to Disneyland, asking if we can stay there.  So of course, we had to make it happen!  If you are traveling to Disneyland, this is a great hotel for families with young kids!  It’s across the street from the entrance to the parks/downtown Disney and has an amazing water park right on site.  This hotel is closer to the park entrance than 2 of the Disney hotels! Read on for our review of the Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance.

The rooms here are huge, making it a great Disneyland family hotel.  There aren’t many hotels that offer family suites near Disneyland. Our room had 2 queen beds and a bunk bed.  Other rooms have king beds and 2 sets of bunk beds.  Not many hotels fit more than 4 people, so this is perfect for those with more than 2 kids! Another cool thing about this room that we haven’t seen before (and we travel a lot!) is the two showers.  There is a bathtub with a shower and then a separate room with just a shower. Cuts down your getting ready time in half!

We had a view of the water park from our room, which was great!

The highlight of this hotel is the awesome water park.  It’s for guests only (you get wristbands when you check in), which keeps the crowds down. There were very few people in the water park when we went, so the girls had the whole place to themselves.

To ride the 2 big slides, kids have to be at least 40 inches. Milana said you can see Disneyland from the top!

They have a small pool too, but really most kids didn’t even go near the pool with that awesome play area being right there.  And they also have a small pool for infants that’s one foot deep.

The girls played for hours here!  Notice the hotel behind the water park?  If you stay there instead of here, your kids will hate you! You’ll have a nice view of the water park but will be unable to use it so don’t make that mistake!

Here is a video of the water park:

In the lobby, there are games and books for the kids to use.  The girls loved building things with the Jenga blocks!

The Bistro, also located in the lobby, serves breakfast and dinner.  They have a kid’s menu as well, which you won’t find on the printed card in your room, so be sure to walk down and check out the kid meal options.  We had breakfast here one morning and Milana chose the French toast.

There is a gift shop inside the hotel as well as a small market that’s open 24/7 with drinks, snacks and other supplies you may need during your stay.

Right in front of the hotel is Mimi’s Cafe and right next door is Panera, as well as many other restaurants so you will have plenty of dining options here.

For dinner, we decided to drive 5 minutes down Harbor to our favorite place that’s now open in Anaheim, Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles.  If you know anything about this place, you know that most locations have very long waits! This one isn’t as bad as the others, but still be prepared for at least a 20 minute wait if you come during peak time.  We ordered chicken and waffles and everything was amazing!

When you’re at Roscoe’s, chances are you will encounter Elmo, the manager.  He’s been here since the beginning and is awesome! They couldn’t hire a better manager.

After Roscoe’s, we headed to downtown Disney.  We left the car at the hotel and walked across the street to Build a Bear. The downtown Disney location is closing next month, which will make Milana super sad. It’s her favorite place in DD! The girls each picked a stuffed animal to take home.

Downtown Disney Anaheim

For dessert, we went to Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express in Downtown Disney for some beignets.  I think the girls liked the powdered sugar more than the actual beignets!

We didn’t go on this trip, but we often go to the Anaheim Packing District which is very close to the hotel.  They have lots of different restaurants to choose from (try the poutine at Kroft) making it the perfect destination for those families where everyone wants a different meal.  Definitely check it out if you’re here!

There is lots to do in the Anaheim area besides Disney.  If you’re visiting from outside the area or even if you’re a local, this is the perfect hotel for your family.  Your kids will have a blast and you will be close to the parks. So what are you waiting for? Book one of the best family hotels near Disneyland today!

Although I received a one night complimentary stay at this hotel,  all opinions are my own.

The Courtyard Anaheim looks like a great place for families. You’re right, those beds are huge! I love restaurants where you actually get to meet the manager, so Roscoes would be on my list! Your girls look like they had such fun at the water park, makes you wish you were that age again!

What a huge hotel room! That’s what I love about the US, they cater for more than just 2 people most of the time 🙂 Loving that splash park too … my children might ‘just’ be a little old for it now, but it looks like so much fun.

Looks like you had a blast. With a water park like that, you don’t even need to go to Disneyland. And all the food options sound perfect.

That hotel looks perfect for families who want a more active holiday. Even though I’m not a kid, I would love to go to that water park! You may also think I’m strange but I’ve never had chicken and waffles. Is it sweet and savory at the same time? Sounds delightful!

I always thought chicken and waffles were an awful combination until I visited Roscoe’s! Now I’m addicted. So good, and my daughter agrees. Still trying to convince the husband!

It looks like your girls had an absolute blast at the water park! You’re right it would be a huge and depressing mistake to stay at the “other” hotel which only lets you see the water park but not use it. The Courtyard Anaheim definitely looks like a great place for families.

So jealous that you live only 20 minutes away from the Happiest Place on Earth! The water park (and hotel) look perfect for kids. I love the food at Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express, but the beignets are the best part. The girls are right – good powdered sugar makes all the difference 🙂

This looks like an AWESOME little staycation! Forget it just being for kids that waterpark looks AMAZING! HAHAHA! I don’t know if they allow adults down the slides but I would for sure try and go. Did they really have BUNK BEDS! How cool is that if they did. Mimi’s Café still has one of the best breakfasts in my book, so that’s a pretty sweet deal that it was right outside the hotel. I will have to look to this one for sure when I get back to the happiest place on earth. Your girls are adorable btw!

This looks like such a fun place. I love hotels with waterparks and it looks like there are plenty of things to do there for the kids. They look like their are having a blast enjoying the time spent playing in the water.

  • Raghav

Wow, this is just wonderful and certainly something my kids would enjoy too. I think being so close to the entrance makes you get the best of both worlds, and especially the water park is the cherry on top because kids and adults like myself love the water and water-parks are just the perfect place to have a family day out. Love the spaciousness of the rooms too and the beach/water wallpaper is quite epic.

Looks like the kids had an awesome time at the Courtyard Anaheim theme hotel. It looks like a cool water park and it is just across Disney. Two showers is something that I have never seen till date too and that is definitely awesome.

This looks like such a great place to stay with kids! The girls looked like they had an amazing time throughout 🙂
When I was younger we stayed at a place that had a view of the next door hotel’s incredible swimming pool and play area, but no access, and I remember my brother and I glumly staring out of the window at it! It’s a good job you didn’t stay in that other hotel, I’ll tell you that! Haha.

What a fantastic place to stay. Two showers in one room, I have only ever seen that once before in the Anantara in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It really does make things easier when you have kids. That water park looks like soo much fun for kids, in which your kids looked like they had blast of a time.

Your’e so lucky to live so near to Disneyland. My kids would love that – and they would love this hotel too.! The water park looks like lots of fun and twos showers sounds like a great plus.

Courtyard Anaheim looks like a dream place for kids. It’s a great fun place for family with kids. I have only been to one hotel with water park in Dubai. I would love to take my family there on next vacations.

  • Mikaela Zimmerman

Would LOVE to stay here! Their water park is amazing! My 2 kids would just love running around playing in the water all day long. And the fact that it is a stones throw to Disneyland- double win!

  • Cilla

My parents recently moved to OC so I just assumed I would not have an opportunity to stay at hotels while visiting them but now your post has changed my mind. This seems like an awesome place to stay (and it’s proximity to Disneyland is a BONUS!). Thanks for opening my eyes to this awesome new place! 🙂

  • Janelle

We are APs and this would be a perfect little staycation for us. Thanks for all these cool travel giveaways!

This hotel looks awesome. I’ve been going down the internet rabbit hole looking for family friendly hotels near Disneyland and have been overwhelmed. We will have to try this one this fall.

  • Dejah Morris

Oh wow, this looks so amazing. My daughter always wants to go to a water park, but it’s hard to find one that has things the younger kids can play with, and that room looks awesome!

  • Eco Friendly Mama

We stayed here right when it opened, and I don’t even think the restaurant was open for business then. My son loved the bunk beds and of course the fun splash pad. And he enjoyed getting to watch the fireworks from the patio where they weren’t as loud as in the park it still just as beautiful to see. Would love to go back for another stay! ☺️

Who even needs Disney?! ?. My 3 year old daughter LOVES hotels, so add in a water park and she would be in heaven!
