Heading to Cabo San Lucas with kids? It’s a perfect destination for visiting families. With lots of family friendly resorts to choose from, a cute downtown and lots of great food, you’re sure to have a great family trip to Cabo!
Since the flight to Cabo is so short and direct, Milana’s been there several times now. Most recently, we stayed at the Hyatt Ziva. The Hyatt is an all-inclusive resort, with several restaurants on site and lots of family friendly activities. They have a kids pool area with slides and a kids club with activities throughout the day. This is the Hyatt pool area:

Her first trip was just a couple of days after turning one. We stayed at the Hilton Beach & Golf Resort (thank you Priceline! ) and it was perfect. The property was beautiful, the pool was awesome (even had a little area with shallow water for kids to play in) and our room was very nice. The only downside is the location, it’s a little bit down from the downtown area, however we had a rental car so that didn’t really deter us much.
The one restaurant we always visit when in Cabos is Maro’s Shrimp House. The owner is really friendly and the food is really good. As you can tell from the title, shrimp is their speciality and they do it well!
We also stopped in to the Hacienda Cocina y Cantina for lunch one day, and highly recommend it!
Our next trip was just after Milana’s 3rd birthday, this time with friends and her bff Lennon. We stayed at the Hacienda del Mar, which had several pools and even a kiddie water play area as well. This was the perfect place for families with young kids.
There are so many places to visit while here. We did a day trip to Todos Santos, which is about an hour north of Cabos and home to the famous Hotel California (which was under construction when we went!).
We had lunch at Los Adobes de Todos Santos and it was great! They gave the kids a bucket of blocks to play with while they waited for the food to come out, which was a nice touch.
Queso Fundido
Shrimp molcajete
Chile relleno
We also went to San Jose del Cabo, which has a really cute downtown area.
On our last day, we went to Tacos Gardenias, a small very local place with some awesome street tacos.
Pork rind tacos:
Cactus tacos:
We were here just before Christmas, so took the opportunity to take some pictures of the kids on the beach.
Cabos is definitely a very kid-friendly destination. Rent a car and explore the area, don’t just stay in your hotel. There are so many good restaurants in the area and it’s really easy to get around. We will definitely be back for a quick weekend getaway.

Yum, churros! I am a little envious of all the beautiful places and great food Milana gets to experience. Seriously, what a great, family-friendly vacation spot!

Cabo was our oldest first trip (at 6 months) and one of our favorite places!
